A Note on Inclusion:

It was absolutely critical to me that from day one, this event be something that was for the people, by the people (hence the name). If you are human, you are welcome here. (If you’re from Mars - we’d love to meet you too!) The entrepreneurial community deserves events that are truly diverse - where diversity is celebrated and not an afterthought, where minorities' voices are just as loud, where we can truly feel free and let our brilliance shine.

For/By seeks to be that event and that space for you. All the meals are dietary-inclusive. We will not be serving alcohol at the event to be mindful of those that are sober or sober curious. The event will also feature ASL interpreters and a reserved space for those who prefer to be closer to the front of the room for accessibility reasons. The space within which the event will be held is built on inclusion too - Universal Standard is on a mission to empower a size 40 to shop in the same way as a size 00 – using style as their only filter, and they are truly making that mission happen.

MONEY MATTERS:

It is very uncommon in our industry for a first-time conference to pay speakers. It is also very uncommon in our industry for all speakers on a stage at a conference to be paid. At For/By, every single speaker and workshop leader is being paid for their time sharing with us on a stage. The photographer and videographer at the event are being paid for their time too. At the same time, we have made every effort to keep your investment as responsible and accessible as possible, in an attempt to ensure that regardless of your situation, finances are not a barrier to attendance.
