the duality of corporate dei*

This presentation is the story of Corporate America’s DEI duality, rooted in the research found in Ending Checkbox Diversity. From the outside looking in, diversity initiatives are on-trend, make for great PR fodder, and really separate the inclusive companies from the outright discriminatory ones. The reality is that DEI initiatives are underfunded, underreported, and generally have underwhelming performance as a result, all while companies continue to discriminate against their underrepresented employees. This is a foundational primer in DEI work, presented in three parts: The Context of Corporate DEI, Why The Change in Perspective, and What’s Not Working & How to Change.
