New Year, New Name (The Story Behind The Rebrand)

Hello friends! Nearly 12 years ago in August of 2008, I started my business in an “official” way. Over the past 12 years, I have done many many things - in the early days I did a lot of resume writing and created planners that I sold on Etsy to help other business owners plan their strategy. Over time that evolved closer and closer to what I’ve been doing recently - marketing and launch strategy.


However, as I look at my life today, I knew I wanted some things to change. I’m working on my doctorate degree and I’m honestly loving the life I lead traveling, working at Google, and speaking on stages around the world. My marketing work was no longer serving the larger purpose of my business - helping businesses focus on storytelling and treating customers like PEOPLE first and dollars second.

That’s why I am so pleased to announce that as of today, this business has rebranded to @focusedonpeople. The visual identity (created by @thegirlnamedblake) still reflects my signature black and yellow while also finally reflecting the work I want to do - focused on people.

Moving forward, I will be focused on:
• employee engagement marketing (i.e. marketing thru the lens of Human Resources, like retention and diversity efforts)
• “authenticity” training (teaching companies how to treat their customers as humans first and everything else second without having to forgo profitability or growth)

My business will exclusively function via workshops/trainings, intensive training sessions, and speaking engagements. I will still offer a limited number of “mini strategy sessions” (my one-hour 1:1 offering) but other than that, this business is 1:many and focused on impact.

This is great if you’re not sure what you need to do to make things happen. Mini Strategy Sessions cost $499 for the hour conversation, post-work, and email support.

working session

Bring the whole team or just the marketing department - let’s figure out your biggest problems and their potential solutions. Come prepared to roll your sleeves up and dig into the data while also being realistic about where your company is at. Working sessions start at $3,500 for a half day session and include pre-work/post-work.

Take it to the next level and host a workshop where I’ll come in and talk to a larger department about evolving your processes to be people-first. I have a well-tested workshop ready to go (great for customer service, sales, or marketing teams) or we can collaborate on a more custom solution to solve more niche pain points.
