WHAT DID I WRITE ABOUT?
about Keep Your Day Job.
Leverage your side hustle to grow your corporate career,
regardless of what HR says you can do.
I wrote my first book on side hustles in 2016, back when I was actually a full time entrepreneur. At the time, I was pretty riled up about the narrative that “turning your side hustle into your full time gig” was the only “acceptable” way to be an entrepreneur, that side hustling was seen as something to ‘graduate’ from. Seven years later & that narrative still rings pretty true, side hustling isn’t seen for its full potential or the transformative impact it can have on your life & career, only for its stepping stone nature to full time entrepreneurship.
BUT all of that (hopefully) changes today, with this exciting announcement! I’m beyond thrilled to share that I’ve signed a #BookDeal with Routledge for my next project. What’s it about? Moonlighting, side hustling, & overemployment have long existed in the dark corners of Corporate America - many employees leverage them for secondary income, stability, & thought leadership, even though companies would prefer that they didn’t. I’ve been in Corporate America for more than a decade now & the entire time, I’ve had a side hustle. I’ve been fired because of it, promoted despite it, & leveraged it to land jobs where my corporate experience just wasn’t enough.
This book is the story of more than a decade of side hustling alongside a successful career in Corporate America & the failures that have come with it too. But more importantly, this book is a roadmap on how to successfully incorporate a side hustle into your life in a way that supports your day job too.
This book is built on my doctorate research and is backed by the rigorous academic standards that apply to doctoral-level writing. More information to come soon!
